Creating a Clearer Path to the Home Through Landscape Design
The front yard needed more than new plants. The project called for a clearer connection between the sidewalk and front entrance, along with landscaping that would make that new route feel intentional within the rest of the property.
Joe worked with the homeowner on the plan before the crew began construction. The new curved walkway became the organizing feature for the front yard, establishing a direct route toward the home while giving the surrounding landscape a stronger structure.
Landscape beds were then built around the new walkway and along the foundation of the house. Defined edging separates those areas from the lawn, while decorative stone provides a consistent surface around the shrubs and other plantings.
Near the sidewalk, two landscape beds frame the beginning of the walkway and help establish the entrance from the street. As the walkway curves toward the home, the same material palette continues into the planting areas along the foundation, helping the different parts of the yard read as one coordinated design.
The project brought together:
- New curved front walkway installation
- Front-yard landscape planning
- New shrubs and ornamental plantings
- Decorative landscape stone
- Defined landscape edging
- Foundation planting beds
- Landscape beds framing the new walkway
- Completion in approximately one working day
The key to the project was planning the walkway and landscaping together rather than treating them as separate improvements. The route to the home determined how the surrounding beds could be organized, while the landscaping helped the new walkway feel integrated into the property.
The finished front yard now has a defined path from the sidewalk to the entrance, with the landscaping reinforcing that connection rather than sitting separately around the home.
